Awards

 

The BBA-IS Program has established two awards to recognize students for their outstanding academic performance and significant contributions to the development of information systems


IS Academic Achievement Award

To recognize BBA-IS students with excellent academic performance.

Eligibility and selection criteria:
  • Year 2-4 BBA-IS first major students (students on study leave in the awarding and its preceding term are not eligible; for students on exchange in the term preceding the awarding term, their performance during the exchange will also be considered)
  • Excellent academic performance
  • Commitment to helping the BBA-IS program and other students and the participation and passion in departmental services/activities will also be considered
  • Good interview performance
 
Application:
  • Students do not need to apply for the IS AA Award. The department will shortlist eligible candidates and contact them for interview. Note that the candidate must attend the interview to be eligible for the IS AA Award.

IS Outstanding Service Award

To encourage students to engage in the IS profession and recognize students who demonstrate significant contributions to the IS communities in HKUST and beyond.

Eligibility and selection criteria:
  • Year 2-4 BBA-IS first major students (students on study leave are not eligible)
  • Proven record in making significant contributions to the IS communities in HKUST and beyond. This includes potential outreach, community IS projects, outside IS practices related to the IS profession such as the activities organized by ISACA, (ISC)2 or other IS-related professional societies, etc
  • Good interview performance
 
Application:
  • Application opens annually, once a year.
  • The applicant needs to fill in an application form (click to download), including a summary of services and a personal statement to explain the details of the contributions, and submit the documents to Ms Carol CHEUNG (carolyancheu@ust.hkby 31 March each year.
  • The application needs to be endorsed by the department before final submission.
  • Shortlisted applicants will be invited for an interview. Note that the candidate must attend the interview to be eligible for the IS Outstanding Service Award.
